About Livelihood & Empowerment

Food Security. Practical Skills. Sustainable Livelihoods.

About Livelihood & Empowerment

We help households and communities strengthen food security, practical agricultural skills and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Who we are

Wings For The Nations is a non-profit charitable organisation committed to practical, community-centred programmes that strengthen dignity, wellbeing and long-term opportunity. The Livelihood & Empowerment department focuses on food production, agricultural learning, nutritional support and community resilience.

Our work is designed around a simple principle: food security becomes stronger when communities can combine access to food with practical knowledge, productive skills, sustainable systems and opportunities to participate in local agriculture.

Our mission

To strengthen food security, nutrition and sustainable livelihoods through integrated agriculture, vocational training, climate-resilient farming, renewable-energy demonstration and community food support.

Our vision

Resilient communities in which families have stronger access to nutritious food, practical livelihood skills and sustainable opportunities to improve household wellbeing.

Our guiding values

  • Dignity - Support should strengthen people without humiliating them.
  • Practical learning - Skills should be useful, hands-on and relevant to real livelihoods.
  • Stewardship - Land, animals, finances and donated resources should be managed responsibly.
  • Sustainability - Farming systems should protect long-term productivity and make responsible use of resources.
  • Nutrition - Food security should support healthier and more diverse diets, not only food quantity.
  • Inclusion - Women, men and young people should have fair opportunities to participate.
  • Community partnership - Farmers, families, technical experts and institutions can achieve more through collaboration.
  • Accountability - Targets, outputs and impact should be communicated honestly.

A practical cycle of food security and empowerment

Production -> Demonstration -> Training -> Nutrition -> Community Support -> Stronger Livelihoods

1. Produce food through integrated crop and livestock farming.

2. Demonstrate practical and climate-resilient agricultural methods on the Model Farm.

3. Train farmers, young people and community members in best agricultural practices.

4. Use farmer field days and nutrition seminars to share knowledge beyond formal training sessions.

5. Direct approved food production and donated resources toward vulnerable households and the Wings Rescue Home where needed.

6. Measure learning, production, participation and food-support outcomes so the programme can improve over time.

A farm that teaches as well as produces

The Model Farm is not intended to function only as a production site. It is designed to become a living classroom where participants can observe, practise and discuss integrated farming systems in a real agricultural setting.

GROW FOOD. BUILD SKILLS. NOURISH COMMUNITIES.

Help build food security
that lasts.
