Food Support for Families Facing Serious Need
Wings For The Nations intends to provide community food rations to assessed families experiencing serious food insecurity. Assistance may draw from approved farm production, donations and other programme resources as available.
How support should work
1. A household or community case is referred or identified.
2. The programme reviews the level of need, household circumstances and available resources.
3. Where support is approved, an appropriate food package or support method is determined.
4. Distribution is recorded for accountability and planning.
5. Where possible, households are connected to relevant training, livelihood or other Wings For The Nations services that may strengthen longer-term stability.
Dignity in distribution
- Avoid public shaming or unnecessary exposure of beneficiary identity.
- Use orderly and safe distribution processes.
- Do not require beneficiaries to perform for cameras or tell traumatic stories in exchange for food.
- Make eligibility and available support clear without creating unrealistic expectations.
- Consider household size and relevant vulnerability factors when designing assistance, subject to programme policy and available resources.
