Crop and vegetable production is central to the Model Farm because it directly supports food security, nutrition and hands-on agricultural learning.
Five planned greenhouses
The farm vision includes five greenhouses to support structured crop production and year-round learning opportunities. Greenhouses can provide a controlled setting for trainees to observe crop management, irrigation, hygiene, record keeping and production planning.
Open crop and vegetable fields
Open-field areas are intended for food crops, vegetables and practical demonstrations selected according to farm conditions, programme needs, seasonal suitability and technical guidance.
Climate-resilient demonstration
The farm should demonstrate practical approaches that help reduce avoidable losses, use water responsibly, maintain soil productivity and improve resilience to changing growing conditions. Specific methods should be selected by qualified agricultural personnel according to local conditions.
