One Farm, Connected Systems
Integrated farming brings crop production, livestock, organic resources, training and food security together rather than treating them as isolated activities. The Model Farm is intended to demonstrate how different farm components can support one another in practical ways.
Livestock and crop integration
Livestock production can contribute organic material for composting or biogas systems, while crop and vegetable production can support household nutrition and, where appropriate, farm feeding systems. The aim is to demonstrate efficient use of available farm resources while maintaining good agricultural and animal-care practices.
Training value
Participants can learn by observing real farm decisions: housing, feeding, crop establishment, greenhouse management, waste handling, hygiene, record keeping, nutrition and practical resource use.
